Songo Didiza

Songo is an entrepreneur and a green economy expert who founded the Green Building Design Group (GreenBDG) as a solution to close the knowledge gap in the green economy, as well as an opportunity to promote real economic growth within the green economy in South Africa.

Her client portfolio includes the energy, construction, financial services, manufacturing, government, NGO, property, oil & gas sectors in Sub-Saharan Africa.

She has been voted Sub-Saharan Africa’s Energy Innovator of the Year by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) in 2019. The award ceremony took place in Washington, DC in September.

She currently serves as a Research Committee member of the Property Sector Charter Council (PSCC) and is a part time university lecturer in leading global institutions.

From working as a Management Consultant in corporate South Africa, to facilitating interactive workshops on Sustainable Development in Germany, to creating and running leadership initiatives in Zimbabwe, Mutsa’s diverse roles have allowed him to exchange knowledge and experiences from a multitude of sources.


Mutsa Samuel

Mutsa is the Founder of UbuntuLab, a Personal Growth Hub which focuses on instilling holistic development and to emerging global influencers and leaders globally. The programs under UbuntuLab, focus on personal growth through (re)connecting with your Authentic Self and take the participants on a journey of self-discovery and authenticity.

Mutsa has spoken in Germany, Belgium and was invited to present Ubuntu Education in Sustainable Development at the International Sustainable Transitions (IST) Conference in Sweden. He has trained young teachers in Kenya’s national Youth Empowerment Initiative and is a founding member of the TedX Harare organising committee. He is also the author of 30 Days of Transformation, A Guide to Your Authentic Self, now available on Amazon.


Thembelihle Seruto

Thembelihle wears two hats: one for strategy and one for coaching. It’s the mystery in problem solving that she finds her passion.

Her background is in brand marketing: specifically launches and re-launches in an array of brands from international brands to NGOs and startups. She has worked with brands such as Carling Black Label, Sta-Soft and M-Net. A highlight was being part of the team that creates the .Be The Coach’ Derby with Rudd Gullit and even creating fundraising project in Alexandra. I also enjoyed volunteering for Tiger Brands at the Mbekweni Youth centre helping them on the ground with marketing and getting more youth to the centre.

She became a Neuro-Linguistic (NLP) Life Coach focused on consciousness, harnessing strengths and finding the best strategies to reach intended outcome. She thrives in working one-on-one with people.


Tebogo Mazibuko

Tebogo has contributed and continues to add value as follows to GreenBDG on a voluntary basis.

Tebogo’s contribution includes advisory on business structures, capital raise models, legal review & drafting, and advice on the management of certain stakeholders.

Tebogo has and continues to provide invaluable advice on GreenBDG’s business development strategies.

Tebogo’s enthusiasm for sustainability and green economy matters and support for social impact causes cannot be doubted. All her contributions to GreenBDG have been given with the highest levels of leadership, commitment, professionalism and friendship. Through her assistance to GreenBDG, Tebogo has displayed her intellect and her aptitude in critical thinking, problem solving, drafting, reviewing and research – all with that consistent eye for detail.

Devaksha Maharaj

Devaksha Maharaj is founding member of Physioneering Services and its subsidiaries trading as Ikigai Engineering.

Ikigai Engineering is multi-faceted focusing on: Management Consulting; Renewable Energy Technologies; Electrical Maintenance Services; Training & Development; Science, Technology, Engineering; Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) Education for children.

She graduated with a BSc. (Hons) in Electrical Engineering from the University of KwaZulu Natal (former University of Natal) in 2008. She was registered as a Candidate Engineer for the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) and in 2014 registered as a Professional Engineer. She joined the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) as a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) in 2012.

Zadok Olinga

Zadok is an expert in Measurement and Verification (M&V) and Energy Efficiency assisting South African corporate companies obtain cost improvements in their operations. He has carried out M&V inspections and written energy efficiency technical reports on more than 80 projects on the Eskom EEDSM program, the Section 12I tax incentive, and the Section 12L tax incentive.

He has over 10 years of experience in energy efficiency projects, which includes the South African regulatory and tax environment, and knowledge of ISO 17020, SANS 50010, ISO 50001 standards and the IPMVP guideline for M&V. He holds accreditations as a Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP®) and Certified Energy Manager (CEM®), from the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE). He is the President-Elect of the South African Energy Efficiency Confederation (SAEEC). He is currently pursuing a PhD with a focus on microgrid renewable energy systems and optimisation around their implementation.
