Songo Didiza I Managing Partner

Songo Didiza is an entrepreneur and a green economy expert who founded the Green Building Design Group (GreenBDG) as a smart technology-enabled business solutions provider in South Africa, using innovative and circular approaches. 

Her industry experience spans across the energy, construction, financial services, manufacturing, government, NGO, property, oil & gas sectors in Sub-Saharan Africa.

She has been voted Sub-Saharan Africa’s Energy Innovator of the Year by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) in 2019. 

She is a trusted global advisor on the green economy and has advised on transactions exceeding USD 1 billion to fast track the green growth in Africa. She currently serves as a SA REITs Advisory Member developing an ESG Disclosure framework for the SA REITs Association and is a part-time university lecturer at the University of Cape Town.

Sumaya Mahomed | Partner

Sumaya Mahomed is an Renewable Energy expert and has played a pivotal role, having worked in countries in South Africa, Kenya and Uganda. 

Her expertise includes Management Consulting,  Renewable Energy Technologies; Electrical Maintenance Services; Training & Development; Science, Technology, Engineering; Results Based Financing Tools. She has technical experience in developing solar projects of above the 1 MW in size.

She has been voted Sub-Saharan Africa’s Energy Manager of the Year by the Association of Energy Engineers in 2022.  

She has a background in Chemical Engineering and Masters Programme in Sustainable Development.  She has registered for a MBA. She is a Board member of the Institute of Energy Professionals Africa (IEPA).

Zadok Olinga | M&V Engineering Lead Mr.​

Zadok Olinga is an expert in Measurement and Verification (M&V) and Energy Efficiency assisting South African corporate companies obtain cost improvements in their operations. He has carried out M&V inspections and written energy efficiency technical reports on more than 80 projects on the Eskom EEDSM program, the Section 12I tax incentive, and the Section 12L tax incentive.

He has over 10 years of experience in energy efficiency projects, which includes the South African regulatory and tax environment, and knowledge of ISO 17020, SANS 50010, ISO 50001 standards and the IPMVP guideline for M&V. He holds accreditations as a Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP®) and Certified Energy Manager (CEM®), from the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE). He is the President-Elect of the Southern African Energy Efficiency Confederation (SAEEC). He is currently pursuing a PhD with a focus on microgrid renewable energy systems and optimisation around their implementation.

Mutsa Kajese | Advisory Board Member

Mutsa Kajese is a non-executive global Advisory Board member to GreenBDG. He is the Founder of UbuntuLab, a Personal Growth Hub which focuses on instilling holistic development and to emerging global influencers and leaders globally. The programs under UbuntuLab, focus on personal growth through (re)connecting with your Authentic Self and take the participants on a journey of self-discovery and authenticity.

Mutsa has spoken in Germany, Belgium and was invited to present Ubuntu Education in Sustainable Development at the International Sustainable Transitions (IST) Conference in Sweden. He has trained young teachers in Kenya’s national Youth Empowerment Initiative and is a founding member of the TedX Harare organising committee. He is also the author of 30 Days of Transformation, A Guide to Your Authentic Self, now available on Amazon.
