Songo Didiza I Chief Impact Officer
Songo is an entrepreneur and a green economy expert who founded the Green Building Design Group (GreenBDG) as a smart technology-enabled business solutions provider in South Africa, using innovative and circular approaches.
Her industry experience spans across the energy, construction, financial services, manufacturing, government, NGO, property, oil & gas sectors in Sub-Saharan Africa.
She has been voted Sub-Saharan Africa’s Energy Innovator of the Year by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) in 2019.
She is a trusted global advisor on the green economy and has advised on transactions exceeding USD 1 billion to fast track the green growth in Africa. She currently serves as a SA REITs Advisory Member developing an ESG Disclosure framework for the SA REITs Association and is a part-time university lecturer at the University of Cape Town.
Sumaya Mahomed | Global Director of Strategy
Sumaya Mahomed is an Renewable Energy expert and has played a pivotal role, having worked in countries in South Africa, Kenya and Uganda.
Her expertise includes Management Consulting, Renewable Energy Technologies; Electrical Maintenance Services; Training & Development; Science, Technology, Engineering; Results Based Financing Tools. She has technical experience in developing solar projects of above the 1 MW in size.
She has a background in Chemical Engineering and Masters Programme in Sustainable Development. She has registered for a MBA. She is a Board member of the Institute of Energy Professionals Africa (IEPA).
Reabetsoe Kgoedi | Utilities Project Manager
Reabetsoe is an Experienced Energy Management Specialist with a demonstrated history of working in the Energy and Utilities industry. Her industry experience includes Energy Efficiency, Energy Management, Utility Management, Smart Metering, Troubleshooting, Report Writing, Customer Relations and Customer Experience, Dispute Management, Project Coordination and Management, Lighting and HVAC Calculations, Energy Audits, MS Excel and Leadership.
She holds a BTech degree in Electrical Engineering from the Tshwane University of Technology, a Certificate in Project Management from the University of South Africa and currently doing Postgraduate Diploma in Energy Leadership with Wits Business School.
Tebogo Mazibuko | Advisory Board Member
Tebogo Mazibuko is a non-executive global Advisory Board member to GreenBDG.
Tebogo’s contribution includes advisory on business structures, capital raise models, legal review & drafting, and advice on the management of certain stakeholders.
Tebogo has and continues to provide invaluable advice on GreenBDG’s business development strategies.
Tebogo’s enthusiasm for sustainability and green economy matters and support for social impact causes cannot be doubted. All her contributions to GreenBDG have been given with the highest levels of leadership, commitment, professionalism and friendship. Through her assistance to GreenBDG, Tebogo has displayed her intellect and her aptitude in critical thinking, problem solving, drafting, reviewing and research – all with that consistent eye for detail.
Mutsa Kajese | Advisory Board Member
Mutsa Kajese is a non-executive global Advisory Board member to GreenBDG. He is the Founder of UbuntuLab, a Personal Growth Hub which focuses on instilling holistic development and to emerging global influencers and leaders globally. The programs under UbuntuLab, focus on personal growth through (re)connecting with your Authentic Self and take the participants on a journey of self-discovery and authenticity.
Mutsa has spoken in Germany, Belgium and was invited to present Ubuntu Education in Sustainable Development at the International Sustainable Transitions (IST) Conference in Sweden. He has trained young teachers in Kenya’s national Youth Empowerment Initiative and is a founding member of the TedX Harare organising committee. He is also the author of 30 Days of Transformation, A Guide to Your Authentic Self, now available on Amazon.
Zadok Olinga | M&V Engineering Lead
Zadok is an expert in Measurement and Verification (M&V) and Energy Efficiency assisting South African corporate companies obtain cost improvements in their operations. He has carried out M&V inspections and written energy efficiency technical reports on more than 80 projects on the Eskom EEDSM program, the Section 12I tax incentive, and the Section 12L tax incentive.
He has over 10 years of experience in energy efficiency projects, which includes the South African regulatory and tax environment, and knowledge of ISO 17020, SANS 50010, ISO 50001 standards and the IPMVP guideline for M&V. He holds accreditations as a Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP®) and Certified Energy Manager (CEM®), from the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE). He is the President-Elect of the Southern African Energy Efficiency Confederation (SAEEC). He is currently pursuing a PhD with a focus on microgrid renewable energy systems and optimisation around their implementation.
